This month we’re getting up early to head into the alpine and get some serious trail running in. We’ll be meeting at the Nederland High School Parking Lot to take the free shuttle up to the Hessie Trailhead where we’ll set off to run the famous High Lonesome route in the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area.
The route covers 14 miles of alpine running, has 3,400’ of vert, and a high point of 12,045’ above sea level. You can find the Strava route here.
This will be quite the expedition, so be sure to bring plenty of food, hydration, and adequate gear to ensure you can complete the route without complications. Because alpine weather is notoriously unpredictable, stay tuned to our Instagram and Slack for updates. We may need to cancel or reschedule at the last minute.
Afterwards, we’ll head down into town for pizza and beverages at Crosscut Pizza and Taphouse.
