Tempo Runs are specified intervals or a mid-distance run (4 to 8 miles depending on training cycle) at a steady pace, often 85% to 90% of your maximum aerobic capacity. Early in the season, we work at the lower intensity level to build your running base and resistance to injury. As we progress through the season, we hit longer distances that are closer to your threshold.
